Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful career, while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school.

MY ESSAY:
People have differing views about what teenagers should do after they finish school in order to enhance their employment prospects. Some people advocate that they should immediately find a job to achieve this purpose, while others are of the belief that it would be better to continue their education. I tend to agree with the latter view.
On the one hand, working straight after school is attractive for several reasons. One is that colleges can be quite costly, and not everybody is able to afford them. In fact, some end up in debt after graduating from university, and it may take them years to pay off. In contrast, if high school graduates start working immediately, they can earn money and become independent. Furthermore, instead of spending four years in college, young individuals can develop practical skills and gain real experience in the workplace. This allows them to progress their career more quickly, and even lead to promotions at a young age.
On the other hand, going to college is also beneficial in many ways. It allows young individuals to have a wider range of job opportunities. For example, some well-paid occupations require specific skills that can only be acquired from spending years at university, including doctors and lawyers. In addition, many employers of top companies would look more favorably on, or even only recruit applicants with academic qualifications. Consequently, university graduates tend to earn higher salaries than those without degrees from a university or college.
In conclusion, the option to have an occupation straight after high school in the short term seems to be a more economic decision and can result in quicker professional advancement. However, attending universities or colleges is more advantageous as it can provide increased access to high-income jobs and a competitive advantage in the job market.
