Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

People have differing views about what should be done to improve employment prospects. Some people advocate that workers should stay in one company for their entire career, while others are of the belief that it would be better to switch companies as opportunities arise. In my opinion, the latter approach is more advantageous.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why dedicating a lifetime to one company is attractive to some people. One is that employees can have a simple and stable work life since they become more familiar and comfortable with their tasks and the environment. Furthermore, staying with one company allows workers to have time to master their job and to be seen as dependable and loyal by their supervisors. Consequently, they gain more autonomy at work and even earn a promotion. Long-tenured employees also might be rewarded with additional benefits such as longer vacation time and a higher salary.

On the other hand, changing employers is likely to be more beneficial. First, remuneration often accelerates at a higher pace. Each year, for example, typical Vietnamese companies offer a pay raise of 2-3% to their workers, whereas if they move to another company, an average raise of 15-20% is usually expected. Second, by moving around, employees have the opportunity to broaden their skills and learn to deal with new environments and challenges. This gives them a competitive advantage if they are to find a new occupation. Finally, it can be difficult to find a perfect first career, or workers may even face a toxic environment with bullying, blaming and undervaluing behaviours. Consequently, it would be best to look for a new job or to switch around to find what they really want to do.

In conclusion, an entire career at one company can provide an uncomplicated and secure professional life, promotion and seniority benefits only with a positive workplace culture. Therefore, it is a better choice to change jobs in order to gain a higher salary, a wider range of knowledge and experiences and to find the dream job.
