Some people think that employers should ensure a supportive and pleasant work environment where each employee is respected and valued equally, while others think employers should instead focus on providing better facilities and equipment.

People have different views about what entrepreneurs should do to acquire a successful business. Some people advocate that they should themselves and ensure others workers support and appreciate their colleagues, while others are of the belief that they should rather invest in improving facilities and equipment. In my opinion, both measures can be an effective way to boost business performance.

On the one hand, there are several profound advantages associated with a work environment that respects and values its workers. First, such an environment can promote workplace relationships. As workers feel supported by their colleagues and employers, they are more likely to help others, leading to improved professional relationships and fewer conflicts. This is conducive to a thriving company since teamwork is typically the foundation of business success. Second, being respected and valued makes employees feel a sense of worth, happier and more motivated. In other words, they would be more enthusiastic about doing their tasks, resulting in a good performance.

On the other hand, upgrading facilities and equipment in the workplace is also beneficial in many ways. One benefit is that it allows organizations to run smoothly and safely. In particular, employees of a manufacturing business that provides properly functioning and up-to-date machinery can complete their tasks with greater ease and efficiency, while machinery malfunction impedes workflow, causes stress to the employees, especially if a close deadline is involved, and may even lead to accidents. Furthermore, a workplace with good ventilation and suitable lighting, temperature, seating and space makes workers comfortable and can maintain or raise their overall health.

In conclusion, while supporting and respecting workers can improve teamwork and motivate the workers to work hard, investing in good equipment and facilities can enhance work process and safety, as well as increase workers’ well-being. Consequently, both are vital for business success.
