Please review my essay

Topic: Describe a book you have read.

I would like to describe a book named “the old man and the sea” which is one of my favorite books. Last week, when my friend asked me if I could go to the book shop with her. After I go there, while I didn’t know what to do, my friend recommended me to read the book named “the old man and the sea”. This book was written by Ernest Hemingway, a prestigious American novelist and the genre of it is Literary Fiction. At first, I tried to read this book because of the eye-catching cover, but after I read a few pages, I was amazed about how interesting it was. This book was about an epic adventure of an old, experienced fisherman, Santiago, who has not caught a fish for 85 days. He was declared 'unlucky' by other fishermen of the locality. That made him decided to go to the sea for fishing. After eighty-fifth day on the sea, he finally hooked a swordfish, but he was unable to haul it in. He struggled with the fish in three days, and he finally killed with a spear, then he tied it to the side of the boat and brought it back, but the sharks smelled the smell of the fish he caught, so they rushed over trying to it the fish. He tried to fight the sharks, throw javelins and even use oars to hit. In the end he killed quite a few fish and drove them away, but when he finally reached the shore and looked back, his swordfish had been eaten away and only a white skeleton remained. In retrospect, after reading this book, I was impressed because of the message about life and the desire to empower the nature from this story. Also, I have learned the lesson to success and the obstacle that we have to face in our life. This is the most interesting book that I have ever read.
