Some people think that the government should strictly control the supply of fresh water, while others think we can use as much water as we want. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Since the rise of the industrialization era, the problem of water pollution has become increasingly devastating. In fact, the impacts of this have been proven to be detrimental because when the majority of the supply of freshwater available is contaminated, human beings might have to unwillingly or inadvertently consume dirty water. And this may cause humans to suffer from a variety of diseases and illnesses. Because of this, some people firmly believe that it is necessary to impose stringent limitations on the supply of fresh water. However, others still think that people can use clean water freely. Personally, I agree with the former and think that allowing citizens to use freshwater freely is completely absurd.

Presumably, one of the most explicit explanations for why there should be strict control of the supply of fresh water is that, first, this severe control can help human beings avoid certain kinds of diseases. Undoubtedly, the world is confronted with the problem of the lack of freshwater supply. This is because human activities such as the act of dumping factories’ dirty wastewater into rivers or littering have made many sources of water contaminated. Additionally, the problem of rising sea levels also contributes to the scarcity of freshwater. And as the world has seemingly not made any joint and significant attempts to address this problem, the amount of freshwater available has become increasingly limited. As a consequence, in some countries especially poor ones, citizens have to use polluted water on a daily basis. In fact, evidence has shown that people living in these countries frequently suffer from diseases such as cancers or diarrhea. Having stringent control over the supply of fresh water is one way forwards, as it guarantees that most people can have enough freshwater to use, and therefore ensure their well-being.

On the other hand, some people have an opposite opinion; they say that there is still a bountiful supply of fresh water that allows people to use it freely. One of the justifications for this might be that thanks to advanced technologies, nowadays people can purify polluted water and transform wastewater into clean water. Evidently, Bill Gate and his colleagues have recently developed a technology that can change human waste into freshwater. Given this, many people, therefore, have come to believe there is always fresh water to use. However, in my view, although technologies can transform certain kinds of liquid into clean water, the idea of applying these technologies to the whole human being is preposterous, since there are various underprivileged countries that have very limited access to technologies in the world. Furthermore, for some deserted countries, freshwater is a luxurious commodity, so it would be very unfair if a country allows its citizens to use water wastefully while some countries do not have access to freshwater.

In conclusion, while some people feel that there should be some limitations over the supply of clean water, others people oppose this and think that people can have as much water as they want. Personally, I gravitate to the former since I believe the problem of water scarcity has become increasingly significant, and the key to addressing this is to limit the use of freshwater.

You wrote over 520 words. That is more than double the minimum of 250. You will not lose points for writing more; however, longer essays generally do not get high band scores. And there are many reasons for this.

First, the longer the essay, the more chances you have to make errors, and you will lose points for each of those errors.

Second, your writing may be repetitious an
