Therefore, promoting products programs may now be done more in sports events, reducing the dramatic and continual tension inherent in sports matches. Moreover, this can also lead to a significant decrease in viewers of sports events, since they want to relax and entertain by watching matches with extreme intension and hardly expect so many advertisements, which interrupt them consecutively when they pay full attention to every sports game.
On the other hand, attracting such massive investment from large cooperations to sports competitions strongly extends the scale of those events and improves the quality of facilities, even though the time that products advertisements take is quite large. This is because, with a huge financial source, the hosts can afford cutting-edge equipment and high-quality items to serve sports events and promote their popularity extensively to more people. To look for a supporting example, one needs to look no further than the EURO, which showed the high ratings of viewers in every match due to the important role of broad advertisement to a large number of people around the world. This example sheds light on why it makes sense to draw such an enormous investment into sports events.
To sum up, while there are some disadvantages in terms of large companies' investment in sports events, it is evident that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.
