Topic: Emotional stress is not a new phenomenon. However, people seems to be more stressed than ever. Write an academic essay about the causes of stress in society today.

In the fast-paced life, stress has been normal, to some extent, a necessary part of life. As a result, the number of people who had to face with stress everyday in several sides of life has been gained at a record level. In my point of view, this record level of stress can be engendered by pressure also problem in individual finance, overload work and personal relationships.

One of the main cause for stress is financial problem. It is obvious that issues with financial drive hundreds of employees to impoverishment because they are persistent and never quite resolved. For example, unpaid bills and bill collectors can create great tension and play a role in divorce or poor quality of work. In 2015 survey “Money is the top cause of stress in the United States. 72% of Americans stressed about money at least some of the time during the previous month,” according to the American Psychological Association (APA).

Another problem because stress is related to overload work. Most of people who spend always work long hours with strict deadlines in a long-term can suffer from a high pressure and anxiety. As consequence, they will suffer from disease related to mental health or even kill themselves off. the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) claims that, “Americans now spend 8% more time at work compared to 20 years ago, and about 13% of people work a second job. At least 40% report their jobs are stressful, and 26% report they often feel burned out by their work”.

Last but not least, personal factor cause of stress may come from relationships. There are numerous causes of stress in marriage relationships such as marital problem, break winner or pregnancy, and when couples are constantly under pressure, this means that the relationship could be on the risk of failure.

In conclusion, nowadays, a number of people seems to be more stressed than ever due to reasons is regarding to financial problem, overload work and issues in relationships. This is a serious problem and unless we handle it, the health of society will suffer. My view is that the main of responsibility for solving this issue lies with employers and government.
