In some countries, people tend to attach great importance to owning a house instead of renting one. This can be attributed to a number of factors. And I personally think that this way of thinking is positive.

There are some justification for this situation. First, renting may be unstable for many people. Granted, people who rent often feel unsettled because landlords can evict them at any time they want even if they do not do anything wrong. For example, landlords can evict tenants if they want to sell the house or to use it for different purposes. And this induces a sense of instability and insecurity in tenants, which would adversely impact their personal lives. Second, unlike renting, owning a home allows people to have more freedom. Being a homeowner means people are entitled to make any adjustment they want in their homes such as remodeling or redecoration, which is never the case when people rent.

My view is that this is a positive situation. If people think owning a home is something vital to them, they would manage their finance more sensibly. Undoubtedly, at least for many people, buying a house is expensive. Thus, if people crave a house that only belongs to them, they need to spend their money more wisely, which could be stop living an extravagant lifestyle and start saving up or seeking a second job to support them financially. In fact, having good financial management skills can not only help them to own a house but also can benefit them tremendously in the long term.

In conclusion, I believe that the reason why owning a home is important to some people is that it provides a sense of stability and allows them to have more freedom to their houses. I also believe this is a positive situation because it encourages people to manage their money more sensibly.
