My essay:
The maps illustrate the changes taken place in Felixstone over a 34-years period from 1967 to 2001.
It is clear that Felixstone underwent some significant transformation due to redevelopment and the addition of infrustructure.
In the North of Felixstone, a variety of shops on the right-hand side of the High street were demolished and replaced by the apartments in 2001. Moreover, the huge farmland in the east of Felixstone was cleared to make room for the construction of a swimming pool, a new hotel and two tennis courts. Meanwhile, the golf course and a set of shops on the remaining side of the High street stayed unchanged.
To the South of Felixstone, the wind turbines were erected at the free space between the dunes and the sea. The hotel was narrowed for the supplement of a car park nearby. In addition, the area of marina and pier as well as a fish market next to the High street were knocked down for development of public beach and private beach.
