My essay:

The pie chart depicts the main causes of worldwide agricultural land degradation (deforestation, over-grazing, over-cultivating and others). The table shows effectiveness of these causes on three regions (North America, Europe and Oceania) during the 1990s.

The most important reason that made land to be less productive was over-grazing of animals, which was 35% of the whole global degradation. The next effective agent was deforestation, 30% degradation. A further 28% of global land degradation was over-cultivating of crops. In general, other reasons counted for only 7%.

These causes of land degradation affected differently in three regions. Europe experienced 9.8% degradation because of deforestation, while the impact of this in North America and Oceana was low (0.2% and 1.7%, respectively). In addition, Europe had the highest degradation of over-cultivation (7.7%). In contrast, Oceania degraded 11.3 by over-grazing in these years, but its total land degradation was 10% lower than Europe (23%), the highest degraded land. North America had the lowest degradation in each cause.

To summarise, the most important causes of the global farmland degradation were over-grazing, deforestation and over-cultivation, respectively. Europe suffered more from these causes.
