People’s opinions differ as to whether or not the gifted student should be taught separately. While some people think that students should study together, I still believe that it is necessary to teach the intelligent pupils in a special class.

There are several reasons why the gifted children should have a separate education. If they learn with others, they may affect the confidence of other children. Other children who find it difficult to absorb the lectures may feel depressed and lose motivation when comparing themselves with the fast speed of learning of intelligent children. As a consequence, these children will gradually feel pessimistic about their abilities. Moreover, the gifted children may not have a reasonable study environment to reach their full potential. For example, a child that is talented with drawing should be taught more about art instead of chemical exercises. To show their full talent, it is necessary that intelligent students must be given special courses.

However, there are also some reasons that children should be taught together whether they are clever or not. Firstly, the gifted pupils can offer assistance to others. The smart students can teach their friends if they do not fully understand the lecture and help them with their homework. This, therefore, can improve the educational outcomes of the class. Secondly, the intelligential division will be difficult to be seen. In many countries, some discrimination between children depends on their class. When teaching children together, people somehow will not judge a child by the class he studies at.

In conclusion, while some people think that gifted children must be taught at standard classes as others, I still hold a firm belief that a separate education is suitable for intelligent to train and develop themselves.
