Is Summerhill school better than other traditional schools. Do you agree?

Nowadays, there is a controversy that whether the teaching method of Summerhill school is more effective than that of other traditional schools. However, it is clear that Summerhill school has a higher quality in teaching students for some reasons.

First of all, Summerhill is a school that students are provided a lot of choices and opportunities to develop their own pace as well as to fulfill their goals. This teaching method allows pupils to choose any lessons to attend and they even do not have to finish any assignment. For example, at Summerhill school, if a student wants to become a doctor, he can choose to learn only math and chemistry in his timetable. As a result, they can have more professional knowledge to satisfy the job’s requirements. However, some people think that Summerhill school does not have a strict rule, discipline, or punishment. This may lead some children to have undesirable behaviors. The fact that many parents send their children to school in order that children can learn not only academic values but also moral values. While this is true, it is not important because Summerhill school gives pupils chances to live in a community that supports them and gives them freedom to be themselves. Therefore, it is suitable for children to learn at Summerhill school.

Secondly, studying at Summerhill school is an appropriate way for students to become more creative. As some people believe that the ability to stimulate creativity does not have a direct relationship with the amount of knowledge in a book. Moreover, when students carry too much knowledge from books, it may inhibit their creativity. For instance, Summerhill ' students are always encouraged to participate in activities which are seen to help them to improve creative thinking instead of attending lessons. However, others think that gaining knowledge can also have a significant effect on creativity, as it is in fact impossible for children to be creative from the start without the foundation of knowledge. Therefore, a large number of parents tend to send their children to traditional schools in order to study more academic experiences instead of going to Summerhill school. While this view seems persuasive, it is not supported by the fact that Summerhill' students always have a higher self-confidence, ambition, as well as a wide scope of experience in life, which helps them to have a high work effectiveness. Thus, studying at Summerhill school helps children to become more creative, self-esteeming, and have social skills in life.

In conclusion, it is true that Summerhill school has a liberal education when compared with other traditional school. Not only because the freedom, creativity, but also the teaching methods that widen new horizon for students
