To meet the growing needs of food for the increasing population, country should make use of genetically engineered foods. However, some people believe that GM foods are not only unhealthy but affect the nature too. Do you agree or disagree about this?

The rapid growth of population around the world can results in the shortage of food in the future. Therefore, GM food has been researched and introduced to solve the problem. However, some individuals think that GM food is able to exacerbate people’s health and has negative influences on nature as well. In my perspective, along with effects of GM food, we need to consider the benefits that this kind of food brings to us.

On the on hand, using GM food to replace the traditional cultivation can cause some bad effects. Firstly, genetic modified engineering could be too costly to afford, especially in developing countries. Many scientists emphasize that to create a ne kind of GM food need a large amount of money and time. Meanwhile, many countries a still have to face with problems such as crime or pollution. Therefore, it is difficult for these nations to afford this high technology. Secondly, GM food can alter human gene because of its features. Although there are not many clearly clues proving that GM food affect directly to human body, but there are a tremendous number of people still being afraid of GM food. This might reduce the consumption if this kind of food is introduced.

On the other hand, GM food brings various benefits to human being. One of the advantages is that GM crops grow more quickly. Another benefit is that planting GM crops could reduce the quantity of herbicides used in agriculture can farmers have higher food productions and protected their health.

In conclusion, GM food can be the future solution for the good shortage. However, people need to consider deliberately its effects to avoid unexpected consequences.
