Genetic engineering is an important issue in modern society. Some people think that it will improve people's lives in many ways. Others feel that it may be a threat to life on earth.

One of the most prominent questions nowadays is that whether genetic engineering brings about benefits to our society. Some people argue that this phenomenon may push a risk to life on earth, however, I strongly believe that it will improve people’s lives in many ways.

There is no denying the fact that genetic engineering has some drawbacks to a certain extent. First of all, failure of the research can lead to undesirable consequences and might result in some faulty products. Also, genetic engineering can produce recessive gene, which is seen as ominous implications for the life on earth. For instance, due to some unfortunate oversights, scientists may create a terrifying monster, which threatens people and other animals’ lives.

Despite these above disadvantages, the breakthroughs in genetic technology will bring about various benefits to people. First, by creating pre-dominant genes in vegetables and fruits, which gives all citizens higher quality of food and nutrition sources than ever before, leading to the high living standard of people. In addition to this, thanks to this achievement in science, people can manufacturing antibiotics in great bulk, increasing the productivity and hence providing for researchers enough materials to produce new medicines more easily. As a result, some diseases in human can be cured and followed by improvement in their health.

To sum up, although genetic engineering has some disadvantages, it still presents a lot of benefits for people ‘s nutrition sources and medical industry.
