It is true that nations tend to become more and more similar because their residents can consume the same kind of goods around the world. I would argue that this is a positive development.

If products can be the same all the globe, people can have the equality to buy and use what they want. In the past, a lot of under-developed countries had small markets where products were limited in terms of quality and quantity. My country, Vietnam, for example, lacked many essential goods for life such as vehicles and television 20 years ago while developed countries sold them everywhere inside their borders. When products of those countries were imported to my country, people expressed their happiness because after that their lives have been improved.

It seems evident that countries would make a leap on their economy and culture diversity if they can import cutting edge technology and international habits and customs. Firstly, the countries which have latest technology transfer from developed countries such as Japan and the United States may quickly improve their industry. For example, when the United States subsidized engineering machines to the South Korea, the construction industry of this country developed quickly. Secondly, some countries learns good cultures from overseas commodities may help local people have more chances for lifestyle and new customs. In other words, they can wear what foreigners wear, eat what foreigners eat, and even use traditional musical instrument of other cultures to apply in their own events.

In conclusion, I believe that countries have same assess to similar source of products is a positive development.
