Topic: The chart shows fresh fruit exports in 2010.
The bar charts compare citrus fruits exports from various countries in 2010.
Overall, oranges and lemons were by far the most commonly exported fruits. While South Africa and the US were the primary exporters of grapefruits, the market for other citrus fruits seemed to be dominated by Mexico.
In 2010, South Africa was the highest-ranking orange exporter, with 1 million tons shipped worldwide, followed by Egypt and the US, each contributing 900,000 tons and 700,000 tons respectively. With regards to lemons, Turkey managed to export 500,000 tons, which is slightly higher than the figure recorded for Mexico, and almost double that of Argentina.
The US and South Africa, in the same year, shared equal amounts of exported grapefruits, with numbers reaching approximately 230,000 tons each, while Turkey distributed a further 170,000 tons, roughly 50,000 tons less than those two countries. In terms of other citrus fruits, nearly 450,000 tons were exported by Mexico, vastly outstripping the minimal contributions by Israel and the US altogether.
