Please Review - IELTS Writing Task 2

Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Humans face many conditions in life, and they can be either good or bad. There are two contradictory opinions on how people should respond to unpleasant situations; some people think that it is better to accept them, whilst others believe there must be an area of improvement in order to overcome them. I personally agree that we should try our best before giving up in these situations.

Many people think they need to undergo any situation, including a bad one, because it is simply an inevitable fate. If we try to change our destiny, it will only waste our time and we may lose another opportunity that is opened in the meantime. To illustrate this, an employee who had a bad job performance and low salary quitted his profession after 3 years of working. He applied for another occupation and got a promotion, which probably would have not happened if he had tried to keep his job with low pay.

However, some individuals believe that undesirable situations can be handled because there is always room for change. One can do self-evaluation or assessment to find out what one is lacking at and discover a way to fix it. Moreover, I believe that hard work pays off. The best example for this is from the experience of Thomas Alfa Edison. He dealt with many failures, but he tried to regain his spirit and finally spotted what was wrong in his experiments. If he had given up in the past, we would have not been able to see the light in the city now.

In conclusion, despite the popular idea of accepting any bad situation as an undeniable destiny, I would argue that one should try to correct it by doing self-reflection and improvement.
