In the last century, the first man to walk on the moon said: “That’s one small step for a

man, one giant leap for mankind”. However, some people think that space travel makes

little difference to our daily lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many people think that spending money on space exploration is not worth as it is not making any difference in common man’s life. However, the first person to land on the moon quoted that it is a giant leap for mankind and could bring enormous change in the world. I partly agree to the statement. This essay would be providing insight on both the point of views and later reaching at a logical conclusion.

Since last century, many nations are competing against each other to declare supremacy in developing technology for space research. Several missions have been completed so far and many more are yet to be sanctioned. Landing on moon was one spectacular achievement in this field. Many research has been conducted for the sake of humanity’s growth. Development in modern physics and technology made this all possible. As, a result many new inventions took place which made scientists to look beyond this planet.

In addition to this, massive growth in employment can be seen. NASA and ISRO are few organisations which employs thousands of workers to work alongside other establishments for new inventions and discoveries. Introducing new subjects in school, research and development engineering, global infrastructure development shows positive side. In contrast, common man is not concerned about space and science as he is relying on his efforts to earn a normal living. To paint a big picture, implication of new concepts to manufacture products has been already done in the past. For instance, telescope, cameras, lens technology and many more shows progress.

In conclusion, pursuing knowledge is human nature and discovering new phenomenon is keeping scientists busy. So far we have known very little about the universe and there is much to discover. Growth in economy and employment proves that this is making some difference in people’s lives.
