The graph given witnesses foreign travellers’ preference for three separate areas in a European country between 1987 and 2007. There are four areas in the graph: the coast, the mountains, the lakes.

It is without difficult to see the particularly strong growth in the overseas visitors number. The figure for foreign tourists who travelled to coastal areas and the mountainous areas fluctuated whereas the mountains’ remained nearly unchanging.

Until 1997, the number of travellers who chose the lakes as a travel
destination experienced a steep rise from 10 thousands visitors to 40 thousands – which is more than doubled its original level. The tendency of foreign people travel to the lakes continued emerging sharply and then reached top at 75 thousands of people. During the span of a 20-year period from 1987 to 2007, the number of visitors who prefered to visit the coasts went down a little bit at the very start then peaked at 75 thousands – which was the highest level.

While two other choices of visiting had erratic changes, the option of visting the mountains seemed to be the most constant. It just attracted a slight rise from 1987 to 1997, experienced a gradual growth until 2002 and then reached to 35 thousands in 2007.
