Some people look forward to a year of travelling, a “gap year”, before they begin work or university and see it as a chance to broaden their horizon. For ohters this is an expensive waste of time. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
People are facing the dilemma of whethr decide taking a gap year would be a opportunity to broaden knowledge or just a waste of time. However, as to whether it is a blessing or a curse, there arises a heated debate among people with different background.
On one side of the arguement, there are many who claim that, before attending tertiary eduacation and beginning to work, taking a gap year would broaden their knowledge. Under certain assumpton, this can be contsrued as taveling before begin work and take the third educaton or working before going to university. These ativities help them to gain more knowledge and broaden thier mind. By way of illustration, before attending university which specialised in tourism, people could spend their time travelling around to expose various cultures, get to know different people in different countries and learn how to communicate with different them in basics. Eventually, when they attending tourism univsersity the efficacy of theri studying would be far more excellent than students who did not take a gap year to travel.
However, there are some subcribe to the view that it would be no use spending a year off to travel instead of going to university or begin to work. This mean that they find that they could learn nothing which is beneficial for their future in conditon that they take a gap year. Taking a gap year is just a fancy reason for thier laziness. As a result, when they begin to go to university, they would like to fall behind and could not keep up wit h their studies. This may lead to a peer pressure as people who are at thier age are sophomore while they are just a freshment.
In conclusion, taking a gap year would bring both benefit and drawbacks to people. To my way of thinking, ist is beneficial to taking a gap year for broading the mind.
