Answer:
In recent years, a large amount of language around the world is reduced. A certain number of people believe that it is not an emergency on the ground that our life would be less complicated when there are fewer foreign languages. In my opinion, I don’t completely agree with this statement as the diversity of the world languages has a lot of benefits for the individual and the society as well.
First of all, a language is not just a group of spoken words, I believe language is the fundamental tool to understand the culture, traditions, and thought processes of different communities. Language has evolved over thousands of years to reflect what it means to be from a particular place. The extinction of some minority languages will eventually lead to the disappearance of the cultures and uniquenesses of the countries owning them. And our world wouldn’t be better if it were totally combined as one and there wasn’t diversity of culture anymore.
Although it is argued that multiple languages cause confusion and difficulty in conversing, I can not support this perception. People can use their mother tongue for conversing with their family and friends and an international language like English for official foreign communication such as business or studying in. Moreover, scientific studies prove that learning multiple languages ??helps people be more flexible, sharp, and have the opportunity to explore many different aspects of themselves.
To conclude, the disappearance of languages will help communication easier but it doesn’t outweigh the fact that our world needs the variety of tongues to be more interesting and maintain special cultures.
