In many cities today, most people live in large apartment blocks. Does this kind of accommodation have more advantages or disadvantages?

In comparison with the past, the number of people who choose apartment complexes as their place of residence has risen. However, this type of housing, apart from its privileges, such as enhanced security, has its own drawbacks, like problematic neighbors. I think that the benefits of living in an apartment outweighs its detriments.

On the one hand, the first and foremost disadvantage of an apartment is its somewhat limited space. Apartments are usually smaller than their counterparts, i.e. houses, when they are identical in terms of price. The second drawback of apartment living is its relatively lack of privacy. You may occasionally overhear your neighbor talking in the upstairs or juxtaposed unit and the same can happen about yourself. Lastly, there habitually are restrictions that not all residences find painlessly adaptable, such as pet restrictions or no smoking codes.

On the other hand, apartment blocks are normally well-located and this could be of convenience for people of all ages. This means that you have easy access to most, if not all, facilities, such as hospitals and and your workplace, and you have to spend less time for conveyance. The second positive is the affordability. Small units are ideal for students and individuals who intend to live alone in the foreseeable future with a reasonable cost. Lastly, improved security is one of the privileges that cannot be overlooked. Buildings usually have security systems and caretakers as well. Even the complicated nature of tremendous complexes makes it harder for the thieves, as there is more eye to witness and it is more time-consuming to reach the unit's entrance.

In conclusion, I believe the benefits of living in apartment far outweigh its detriments and the disadvantageous aspects can be dealt with effortlessly.
