On April 23, 2006, 23 of the fun-filled members of the church went to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte to enjoy the beach, nature, and fellowship with each other.
The group came in three vehicles, with Bro. Ely de Leon, Dr. Norman Capili, and Pastor Alex Casalme as the drivers. It was a long trip, but made enjoyable by each other’s company and the lovely, lush countryside. When the drivers got tired, Jeff Olbes, Brean Capili, and Sis. Viola Casalme served as substitute drivers.
The first night was hosted by Bro. Jun Laus and family, at their house in Ilocos Norte. The next day, the group proceeded to the white sands of Villa del Mar. The group was greeted by a very inviting beach with warm and friendly waves. The high-spirited group also visited Pannzian, a beach and mountain resort. Half of the group went hiking on the hills until they came to a waterfall. The hikers cooled down in the pond at the foot of the falls.
Everybody assembled together again at lunch time, and enjoyed a very sumptuous meal prepared by some of the sisters. After everyone had rested, the group became very active swimming in the midst of high and violent waves. The group appreciated the calm waves of Villa del Mar even more when they got back.
On the way back to Cavite, the adventurous group stopped by Vigan, Ilocos Sur to enjoy the history of the oldest surviving Spanish colonial city in the Philippines.
The trip was truly a refreshing experience. It gave everyone a chance to go where they otherwise couldn’t have gone, as well as strengthen the bond between each other. And most of all, it was the best experience worshipping God in the midst of his beautiful creation.
