This topic is very controversial. When I convinced myself to go to one side, I think about the other side and know I can’t go with one side. I don’t want the baby, as a human being, is killed just because he/she still depends on the mother, but don’t want the baby, and maybe the mother too, have to live in a difficult life.
I agree whether a woman gets pregnant intentionally or unintentionally, she should take responsibility for her actions and not be allowed to kill her baby off just because it is inconvenient to her. If abortion is fully illegal, then women who don’t want the baby will just resort to unsafe measures. Making it illegal is not an effective way to stop it from happening and there are some circumstances are beyond control.
I agree with the statement from the third video, people need to have a conversation based on mutual respect and empathy. I sympathize with the lady I the first video. She made a decision based on the situation she found herself in, she took accountable on the pregnancy and made a choice to abort her baby.
I read a few opinions and think one idea is that abortion before 6 months of pregnancy can be legal, as at that point, the baby has not developed fully into a human yet. That can balance both sides and enforce a law on abortion can make the woman more aware about her choice of having sex. That also helps teenage girls who are raped or a baby that is early diagnosed with some fatal diseases. We can’t judge the inner conflict a woman must endure in order to make a decision, but I can imagine it is almost never an easy decision. I want to value life, but I understand that every situation is different and not everyone shares a common religious belief.
