Please proofread my sentences

I just wanted to follow up with you on the e-mail I sent two weeks ago (regarding, in regards to) closing the books for XYZ. It has been almost a year since the buyout of the property. We have to distribute the remaining cash balance so we could close the books to avoid the bank charges every month.
