Please proofread

Are both correct:

I returned my car a couple days ago and don’t have transportation. I forgot how inconvenient it is without a car here…

or

I returned my car a couple days ago and don’t have transportation, and I forgot how inconvenient it is without a car here…

anon006 Are both correct: Yes, but ... 1) I wouldn't connect those two ideas with 'and', so I prefer the first version. 2) I'd use "a couple of days ago".
