Throughout my life I have had many memorable events. The memorable times vary from being the worst times in my life and some being the best, either way they have become milestones that will be remembered forever. Once I had to prepare for a school speech and I can still remember how nervous I was. I prepared a whole page of content to speak. The hard part for me, at that time, as I felt and do so feel now, still- was that I had to present this speech in front of the whole school. The thought of the same brought anxiety and shivering in me. I had to get over it somehow. I did some mental preparations by standing in front of the mirror and presenting the speech to myself. Rehearsing the same again and again, until I felt that I’m not making any mistakes. I kept telling myself that it’s not that hard and that there’s nothing that bad that can happen as I kept imagining, so helplessly. Finally, when the time came for my speech, I showed some courage and presented the speech with full confidence. I did not make any mistakes, though, I should mention, I took a pause between two paragraphs, nothing unusual, but in that pause, I felt like I’ve forgot what I have to say next. I took a deep breath as an attempt to ease myself. It felt like an eternity, that pause, as I can remember to be honest. But suddenly, the next lines came to me as I had grasped them earlier, and so I carried on like normal until I finished the speech, and just as I did that, I heard a loud applause, suggesting me that I’ve done a good job. It were my friends that I could hear the loudest of them all shouting cheers as I smiled back in gesture. My eyes glanced towards where the Principal was. She was smiling too, right back at me. From that expression the Principal just had given me after the speech, I could tell she was not expecting me- out of all school kids one’s mind could traverse at that time, to be so proficient and well versed in my speech. That was one of the proudest moments of my life, and I cannot forget it for the rest of my life.
