But MM I was taught in these types of situation that you're supposed to use Present perfect to desribe and experience?

Unless you include a past event the past simple isn't native.

eg.

Im not good at speaking in public, because I've never taken public speaking. <---correct.

I'm not good at speaking in public, because I never took public speaking. <---sho
