Please need help to check the grammar and main ideas

I am not a native english speaker.. I really need your expertise on my grammar and paragraph (if my paragraph has with sense)

Social Networking And Its Disadvantages

There are lots of disadvantages that I can see in Social Networking than advantages. For one, joining and participating in Social Networking is certainly a distraction because it distracts your concentration when you are working on your assignments. For example my two daughters, when they are doing their assignments I see them smiling and laughing for no reasons. I checked on them, and notice that they are flipping the websites from the websites they suppose to research on, and at the same time flipping to their Facebook account checking to see if someone replies to their post. No wonder why are they taking too long to finish their assignments. They could have done quickly if it were not logging on to this Social Networking websites. It also can also be addicting and a time waster at the same time. Imagine the people who log on everyday, and spent hours posting non-sense topics and replies to someone’s posts such as “I am going sleep for few minutes.” “Just ate hamburger at McDo.” “Peter peed on his pants.” Etc. It can be tedious job, but they have time to do it. I see the same people who post everyday talking about their lives and what happened to them on that day. I have an account on Facebook, but I don’t spend long hours on Facebook. I just checked for few minutes to see if I have a message from a family member or any important event that I need to attend to, and after that I log out right away. Secondly, it can intrude your privacy. For instance, if you post your personal information such as home address, telephone numbers and cell phone address, you can be easily victimized of identity theft or from scammers out there who does nothing but lure you onto something and later on rip your money off because a friend of a friend will become your friend. Even if you don’t know each other, you can be easily followed and stalked with. Finally, when you join in Social Networking websites, you don’t know who really your friends are. When you have a problem, and you post it there, you don’t really know if they are really trying to help you or they just saying it to appease your feelings. It is really important to see their faces in real life because you can tell from their reactions, if they are really telling the truth and wants to help you or just a lie and pretending to be your friend. People should realize the importance of balance of life. The use of Social Networking can be addictive and can manipulate your life, but it is a good tool to communicate with your friends and relatives. If this Social Networking is use for the right purpose; then by all means use it; otherwise it could ruin your life.
