Sending criminals to prison is not the best method of dealing with them. Education and job training are better ways to help them. Do you agree or disagree?
Many people hold the belief that putting the offenders into jails is not the optimal method of coping with them and giving criminals a second chance by educating and offering job training may become better measures. In my opinion, I completely disagree with this statement because lawbreakers can repeat their offenses if they are not imprisoned and punished appropriately.
On the one hand, education can provide them with some invaluable knowledge about their lives and teach them how to avoid repeating crimes as well as becoming a good person. Some criminals having minor offences can repent their mistakes and try to come back to their loyal lives after being educated nicely. Second, offering job training for lawbreakers means that the government is facilitating them an opportunity to redeem their faults. By guiding offenders on how to have a good job and earn a living, they will not tend to return to crime.
On the other hand, these methods can only be effective if offenders commit petty crimes or have a sense of high awareness. In some cases, when people face heinous crimes such as: assaulting sexuality or trading in drugs and must receive capital punishments, education and job training only are not the ultimate answer for these felonies. Furthermore, without imprisoning lawbreakers, it can create fears for the safety of ordinary people, and our lives may easily fall into chaos. Some people will worry about being attacked by criminals who are not arrested yet. Finally, grievous offenders can easily return to crimes because of their poor circumstances and they do not find paths to get out of it, or maybe they are morally bad by nature.
In conclusion, it is my firm belief that sending lawbreakers to jails is the optimal method, be it petty crimes or heinous crimes. Education and job training should only be supplementary methods to re-educate criminals.
