School teaching should focus on success in the workforce and less attention should be given to academic achievement, to what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many people hold the belief that teaching at schools should pay attention to successful workforces rather than concentrating on academic achievement. I totally disagree with this statement because of some negative impacts that ignoring academic attainment would bring.

Some advocates support the idea of focusing on success in the workforce because they think it can give students a bright future due to having enough knowledge and orientations about careers learned from schools. However, the knowledge about jobs is more suitable to teach at universities, when students are mature enough and know about what majors and careers they want to follow, then with the help of lecturers, students can absorb a full understanding of how to become successful personnel. Therefore, teaching at school should pay more attention to academic accomplishment.

In addition, concentrating on academic subjects is crucial for school children if they want to have firm careers in the future. Studies always play an essential part in our lives, should people study hard, they will achieve success sooner or later. Hence, teachers should facilitate students to study industriously by giving more attention to them and academic achievement rather than focusing on success in the workforce. In addition, if school teaching ignores the importance of academics, students may tend to follow this trend and neglect their studies, only noticing how to become successful personnel. As a result, the learning situations of students will go downhill and have negative influences on their exams and future.

In conclusion, it is my firm belief that teaching in school should concentrate on students’ performance and what they have achieved in terms of academic achievement as opposed to success in the workforce.
