Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Television has destroyed communication among friends and family.

Some people believe that watching television has separated the communication of people. In my opinion, however, the opposite is true as watching television can increase this activity.

The first reason why I disagree with the idea that communication is diminished by television is that watching television can create good conditions for people to discuss. This is because modern life makes people become more busier and have less time for their family, therefore, screen time is the moment for people to relax together after a busy day. In addition to that, watching common television programs gives us the same topics to discuss and so that, our conservation would be more interesting. For example, many families in Viet Nam usually watch the news while having dinner, this changes a normal meal into an enjoyment.

Apart from the reason expressed above, I also believe that watching television stimulates the thinking of each person and from that point, people have more the needs for talking. There are a variety of different television programs and everyone has their own favourite ones. to illustrate, middle-aged people like the news, young people like movies and children like cartoons. When we enjoy watching others' best-loved programs with them, they would share their opinions more and so that, relationships become better.

In conclusion, it is clearly that television is a mean that brings us many chances to have good conversations with other people. Therefore, I'm convinced that television encourages communication among people.
