'He didn't cry when his parents told him off'

'His parents told him off but he didn't care '

'His parents went mad but he just stood there and took it'

I'm not sure what you mean...

Shorter? I don't think you can still keep the full meaning if you shorten it much more.

Parents more angry? you could say they were furious, or 'reading him the riot act'.

His attitude more insolent? Hard without introducing swearing!
