The bar chart illustrates the average income and tax payment of Americans in different education levels in 2003. Overall, the higher level of education degree people had, the higher the average income they earned. People with a Professional degree had the highest income while those with less than HS diploma had the lowest income.

The median earning of people having a Professional degree was the highest, at 95,700 USD. It was followed by the average income of those with a Doctorate degree, at 79,400 USD. Americans who had a Master’s degree and those who had a Bachelor’s degree got a similar median earning, at 50,500 USD and 49,900 USD, respectively. The average incomes of groups with an Associate degree and those with Some college, no degree stood at fifth and sixth positions, at 37,000 USD and 35,700 USD, respectively. The median earning of people who had a high school diploma was 30,800 USD. The Americans having less than HS diploma earned the lowest; their average income was only 21,600 USD.
