Please inform vs please do inform

Hi,

I'd like to ask about difference between the two phrases:

Please do inform us about sth.
Please inform us about sth.

Is there any difference in meaning or its just formal/less formal form?

  Regards,
  K.

The first is a little-used emphatic form of the second, and it is usually misused by non-natives. It should be reserved for the situation in which the speaker has just been told that he will not be informed about sth.
