Hi teachers. Could this be improved in any way or is it OK?

"I always thought we would be together forever. I know he wasn't always happy in our marriage, but I never thought he would actually... yeah. It's just hard to accept."

Excuse me Rover_KE. Is "in" after "happy" correct in the OP? Or should it be "with"?
