Essay & Composition Writing

Please i urgently need someone to advise me on this letter.

Hi below is a draft of my motivation letter for you to help me make the necessary corrections. The letter is supposed to be in the format of 500words maximum but my mine is way above that and I can’t see what to delete in other to make it within that limit. I would appreciate it if you would advise me on that Sir.
Thanks.

Dear Sir,
I am applying to your Taught Master’s Programme of XX starting in September 2014.
I am currently undergoing my one year compulsory National Youth Service in Akwa ibom State, Nigeria where I teach mathematics to Junior Secondary School Students. I studied Animal and Environmental Biology at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State and graduated in February 2013 with a Y class degree. I was awarded the Department, Faculty and College prizes respectively for being the best graduating student at these levels. More so, I finished with A’s in courses that could form the basic foundation for this Programme. Theyinclude; FSB 201.1: CELL BIOLOGY, FSB 301.1: GENETICS 2, AEB 457.2: DEVELOPMENTAL AND REPRODUCTIVE PHYSIOLOGY and AEB 458.2: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND ENGINEERING.
As my first exposure to Stem cells, I took the course “DEVELOPMENTAL AND REPRODUCTIVE PHYSIOLOGY” in my final year at the university. I became acquainted with the stem cell type, Human Embryonic Stem Cells and are derived from 5day old blastocysts-precursors to embryos. Unlike other cells in the human body, stem cells are undifferentiated and thus possess the ability to be manipulated in the laboratory in ways that may change their identity and function.
I was impressed about these potentials of stem cells and particularly the fact that scientists are of the idea that persistent research on stem cell functioning could create an avenue for the treatment of degenerative diseases.
Complementing my strong academic performance are my advanced skills in leadership, can-do-spirit, and communication. In my final year at the University, I was appointed the class representative. I was responsible for checking up with lecturers that missed their classes and also setting up the equipment and materials in the laboratory before a practical session with the assistance of the lab technologist. As the class representative, I was also responsible for giving presentations on projects assigned to my option.
I would want to study at the XY because of its outstanding record as one of the world’s leading research and teaching universities. This position is clearly seen in the establishment of The Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics following the discovery of Higgs boson particle predicted to be in existence in 1964 by Professor Peter Higgs. The XY has also scored a mark in the marine energy sector with the establishment of a major water wave test facility for marine energy research and development.
Most importantly is the globally recognized step taken by the XYin the establishment of the XZ. This Centre is set to undertake stem cell research and also the manufacture of higher grade stem cell lines suitable for therapy and clinical use respectively. More so is the University’s applaud able commitment to students support through its programmes of academic and pastoral care thus aiding in maximizing the performance of X students, and placing them in a better position to achieving the highest personal and professional standards.
I would very much like to spend one year at the city of X because of its architectural beauty, exciting array of entertainment and history and culture particularly the world famous FRINGE festival. Also, studying at the XY will give me a chance to acquire the necessary and first class knowledge from its distinguished scientists and in the inspiring, creative and cosmopolitan environment of the University. Furthermore, it would set me on the necessary pedestal to continue my studies up to PhD level. I am confident that my experience in the city of X would be extremely exciting, fun and valuable for both my studies and overall general development.
Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to your acceptance.

Sincerely yours,

Azubuine Justin C.
