LETTER

I would like to express my
appreciation for this opportunity to apply for the xxxx Master’s Scholarship
scheme.

I have a Bachelors degree in Industrial Mathematics from
xxxx University xxxx, Nigeria. My degree is concerned with developing mathematical
methods and applying them to engineering, science, society, and industry. It
focuses on finding cost effective ways to solve industrial problems, study
processes and understand phenomena. My degree project was a research I
conducted on Samples and Sampling distribution. The focus was on the use of
samples in industries; I found that using samples rather than the entire
population, helps to reduce production cost, simplify processes and encourages
creativity.

After my degree I worked as a manager
for Brainznet Africa Global Services Nigeria, during the course of my job I was
able to provide improved customer services, offered outstanding returns to the
firm, assisted in employees development, encouraged team building, and devised
strategic plans to grow the business. Through my experience and studies I have
become highly fascinated and passionate about issues that has to do with
integrating human, information, material, monetary, and technological resources
to produce goods and services optimally.

The Masters degree in
Industrial Engineering and Management to which I am interested to apply deals
with Such concepts as design, development and management of integrated systems
of people, knowledge, equipment and materials. Through my studies at xxxx
University I will learn the most effective ways to utilize the basic
factors of production—people, machines, materials, information, and energy—to
make a product or provide a service. In addition I will get a chance to
interact with students from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds drawn
from all over the world. The exposure is important for interaction and
integration of diverse ideas and perspectives pertaining to various global
issues.

My future plan includes
contributing to sustainable growth in local industries in Nigeria, especially
in the area of production of quality goods and services, through the
application of appropriate engineering and managerial principles and innovations.
I strongly believe that this plan will be better actualized with a Masters
degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.

I consider myself to be a good
candidate for xxxx Scholarship because I am young, energetic, hardworking,
visionary, and motivated person. Pursuing my dream of a quality education at
xxxx University is a giant leap for me, considering the financial status of my
family. With the aid of scholarship schemes like the xxxx, my dream will be a
reality.
