Please how do you say?

Hi all,

I tried to look in the dictionary for a word but I did not find...

What do you use when you say that you know a person but this person is not a friend and you know him just by sight???

I hope I was able to explain the concept properly

I don't think there's a single word, if you have not even met the person. I would just say what you did: 'I just know him by sight.'
