I noticed many similarities between the two front story papers. The Shreveport Times and the Daily World focused on issues that they knew was important to their readers like abortion, problems at a local school, or big decisions that was made. I think that they did this because more readers will read the article if it affects them personally.

I also noticed that both papers use the “Impact and Proximity” news value the most. I think they did this because readers want to know about local and national news that affect them, and they also would like to read about well known people doing something to contribute to their town or state.

The difference between the two articles is that both articles focused on the important news in or area their area.

The conclusion that I reached was that these articles was selected to be on the front page because they are the most important. Normally, the most important stories go on the front page, the stories that will definitely get the reader’s attention.
