Please help...Got confused with usage of words.....

Hi Folks...

First of all i would like to thanks all the members behind this forum.

May GOD bless all of them for their valuable time and efforts...

Hope to continue forever...

I know that what i'm going to ask is a big foolish question, but still i hope my good friends

would surely help me to improve my grammer in all aspects...


1.He is in his ofice(Correct)
2.He is at his office(Wrong)

1.He is at home(Correct)
2.He is in his home(Wrong)

I got the above sentence from a grammar book.

Could u please give some idea about this and kindly tell me the occasion which should use both.

I think all four can be correct, depending on context. He is in his office - He is currently inside that particular room. ) He is at his office - He is in the general area of his office.

I think all four can be correct, depending on context.

He is in his office - He is currently inside that particular room. (You would say this if you were standing outside the door.)

He is at his office - He is in the general area of his office. (His wife might say this to a phone caller from her home.)
