Letter Writing

Please help with my internal application

I have to write an internal application to apply for a new post in my company (X). Here is one part (about half) of it that I really need correction
Competency 2: Written and oral communication skills

I have the ability to communicate effectively in English. I feel confident in communicating with colleagues and customers, in writing and speaking. Previously I have 4 year working as Accounts Receivable Supervisor at Y Hotel, I had to deal with customers through telephone as well as in formal writing. I had done this job effectively to make the best communication between Hotel and customers, so our business at that time could run smoothly with lowest bad dept.

In my job at X, I have to take unit meeting minute, BRM meeting minute. This required me to record people’s opinion, sharing, discussion & decision exactly and understandable, and I have coped well as a new task.
In addition to that I also need to communicate with teachers, colleagues to exchange and share information. I have received feedback from my unit head that my writing is easy to understand with enough information.

Competency 3: Achievement behaviour
Achievement is very important competency. I believe that I am a person who has this qualification. In my work I always try to meet the targets in compliance with quality and time standards. I normally set up a timetable for my “to do list” and move myself towards to achieving the target.
When I worked for Y Hotel, each time I changed the post, I had to face new work, new challenges and new difficulties, I always found my energy and enthusiasm to overcome and provided a good result.

In this year, we have faced many changes in the finance unit: staff cutting down, heavy workloads, but I always try to meet the target, to complete the intended plans. Even though I’ve encountered some difficulties in dealing with completely new tasks, but it could not discourage me. I read EF, SUN manual, listen to the line manager’s consultation to improve myself in my job.
I am sure that I will have many challenges in this new job that I’m applying for, but I feel confident that I will overcome difficulties as I did many times before to fulfil my tasks effectively and perfectly.

Competency 4: Customer service orientation

I understand that customer service orientation is the willingness and ability to give priority to customers, delivering high quality services which meet their needs.

I acknowledge that customer service is a difficult competency as people are very different, and their needs and demanding are also different. So I always try my best to develop this skill and the fact shows that I have improved a lot.

In my daily works, most of my customers are internal. They are my colleagues, teachers, etc… I need to support colleagues in team as well as from other units in various enquiries such as to look for a file, to find a payment voucher/a refund/a contract/or financial data…. I always give them priority and show my helpfulness even it was at my busy time. I’ve got positive feedback and satisfaction from colleagues.


Please help me to correct my application. I need it urgently. Thank you.
