There are some differences between torts and crimes. In my opinion, for the professional activity, a lawyer must know these main moments.
First of all, torts and crimes have a different object. The object in Criminal Law is society relationship as a whole. The base object of Tort Law is an individual rights.
Secondly, Criminal Law and Tort Law have the different functions. On the one hand, the main function of Criminal Law is to keep law and order and protect the public relationships. One the other hand, the main function of Tort law is to provide the rights of individual.
Thirdly, Tort Law and Criminal Law have the different purposes. The main purpose of Criminal law to punish an offender. The main purpose of Tort Law is to compensate of damages. And also, the cases of Criminal Law are considered in criminal court, but the cases of Tort Law are considered in civil court.
