Please help with "deserve of"

I am confused with two sentences below:
1. He deserves well of his country.
2. She deserves well of her employer.

Is the first means: He did sth good to his country and the second means The employers do sth good to her?
I am confused why the subject in first sentence "He" is in front of word "of" while the other one "emplyer" is after "of".

3. The employer deserves well of Mr. Tom.
Is this sentence right? and what is the meaning of the third sentence?

Thanks!!

As far as I know, I have never heard the combination "deserve well of". It certainly doesn't mean "do something good to", whatever it is trying to mean. All of your sentences should be rewritten using some more appropriate expressions.

It must be chiefly British then. I'm American, and I'm not familiar with that phrase.

1. He deserves well of his country.
2. She deserves well of her employer.

I just discussed with my friend, the first one is: He do sth good to his country, and the country should treat well to him, he deserves it.
The second is: She do sth good to her boss, and the boss should treat well to her, she deserves it.

I don't know if the above explanation is right, because no n

I think deserve well of ones country means they did a a lot of contribution to their country
