Please help with conditional sentence

If you paid by credit card, you can call the credit card company and try to convince them to do a "chargeback" to reverse the payment.

Should I use could or can here? Thank you!

Can if you assume or know that the customer will want to do this; could if you are just letting the customer know about his options in the event that he is dissatisfied (in which case If you paid should really be If you were to pay , but you could probably get away with it).
