Question: Many people believe that scientific research should be carried out and controlled by the government rather than private company To what extent do you agree or disagree

Scientific researches have been playing extremely important role in improvement of modern life. It is common that many scientific researches are carried out by companies. But some people argue that scientific research should be carried out by governments. In my point of view both authorities and corporations should be responsible for conducting researches.

To begin with, there are some reasons why governments should take care of scientific researches. Firstly, more resources are invested on researches which have participation of many countries. For example, many countries co-operate in researches dealing with global warning. Secondary, governments tend to do scientific researches which benefit social needs such as researches related to methods to cure diseases, environmental problems, renewable resources and public transportation.

However, companies also need to hold some scientific researches. One reason is that they can help to reduce pressure on governments’ budget thus more money is saved for governments to invest in researches which have higher priority. Another reason in that, to maximize profit companies tend to invest and implement scientific researches more efficiently. Consequently, they can quickly bring out their products to the market. One example of a research carried out by a private company is Hyperloop transportation technologies. It aims to move people and cargo in a small no wheel vehicle in a vacuum tube at speeds that could exceed 600 mph. Thus people will have more options in public transportation with rapid speed which can considerably reduce the city’s congestion.

In conclusion, I believe that both governments and private companies should be responsible for scientific researches.
