US Spending Patterns, 1966 -1996



Two pie charts show the importance of different type of expense in American

between 1966 and 1996.



In 1966, the number of American spent most money on food that is largest area of pie chart. There were 44% expense on food but dropped by one thirds to 14% in 1996.

The cost of cars was the second biggest sector in 1966,whereas there was a drop by 22% ,from 45% in 1966 to 23% in 1996.



The proportion of total spending on restaurant was double, rising up from 7% in 1966 to 14% in 1996.It is obvious to see that the cost of computers increased dramatically that figures went up from 1% to 10% between two years. However, 6% of total spending on book in 1966 that dropped by one-sixths to 1 % in 1996.

Spending on furniture and petrol remain steady that didn’t have big changes.



From information shows on two bar chats, it can be concluded that spending had a remarkable fell on food and books in 1966 and 1996. However, there was a rise on computers and restaurants.
