Dear Madam/Sir
I am writing to apply for the Undergraduate degree in history and politic studies.
Currently I’m studying History at the University of *** in Lithuania. I’m in my second Year of academic studies. History studies helped me to understand people and societies. It offered me an extensive evidential base for the contemplation and analysis of how societies function. It also encouraged me to understand change and how the society we live in came to be. History allowed me to develop a range of skills like using an extensive material available to study the human condition. Although I want to focus on the politics and communication studies later, I want to gain necessary knowledge in all major fields of history, experience some different environment of studies in UK
My interest for development issues increased when I was 16 years old and became an active member of a political youth organisation” ***”, which has very important role in political recruitment, being one of the channels through which youth enters the political parties, social clubs and educates their members. I tremendously enjoyed my experience working as a president. Political work was a process of increasing awareness about the society – at both the local and the global level. Through the organisation, I got the chance to meet other politicians from all over the world sharing the same values as me. I find it important to be equipped with the right theoretical tools, but nonetheless it is decisive to get experience from a society that faces tremendous challenges in terms of poverty and inequality. I learned systematic researching, analytical thinking and information evaluation, and became more conscious about the challenges and problems we face. I’m a very ambitious and determined person who really enjoys organising and presenting…new projects and seminars.………..( I have to write the names of seminars)

I had the privilege to travel around and see many different places. First trip as a exchange student from high school I had wonderful experience studying one semester in Norway ,Kristiandsen, also visited and took some classes in Sweden. That’s way I try to make my study and career as diverse as possible and include a lot of international experiences. A foreign study is therefore one of the obligatory components. I already started to build the fundaments of my knowledge during the first trip to UK as student for summer 2004 exchange program and I had gained confidence in myself finding new fields which are interesting to me, such as international law and communication studies, and I am still looking for new opportunities to improve my knowledge.
I already visited the campus and talked to the Admissions Tutor about the course structure and possibilities at University. I am sure that the University of Exeter would be the one and the best University for me to continue my studies. A comprehensive national survey published 29 November 2004, by UKCOSA: the Council for International Education, Universities UK, the British Council and SCOP (the Standing Conference of Principals) shows that international students studying in the UK are very happy with their academic experience, student support and the wider experience of living in the UK.

I am confident that I will have the skills which enable to me to pursue a career of history and political studies in an international level. I am hard-working and highly motivated. I am ready to undertake any courses either in politics, history or international relations to fill my gap. Exeter is about more than getting a degree – I strongly believe that University can help me achieve my educational goals, better understanding to communications and politics. Therefore, I feel that it is time for me to move to the next level in my life. I want to start fulfilling my dream of making a productive contribution to Exeter while acquiring knowledge that will help me in my future career and throughout my life.
Thank you very much for your time and considering my request. I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,
