Since I dont' know about the context of your sentence, I cannot propose any specific changes. But I will point out the following:

- That can be used to speak about the shipment: that shipment, not any other shipment. You may have different shipments, and only THAT shipment is for Los Angeles.

- That can also be used to connect the parts of your sentence. For example: I have confirmed that the shipment is for Los Angeles. Here, that answer the question: "What has been confirmed?"

- ...the latest ship date seems to mean that is is simply the latest in a series of different dates. Example: We have had to change the date for the rocket launch. The latest date is next Wednesday.

- Similarly, ...the latest ship date can also be understood to mean that any later date would be too late. Or, maybe you want to say that you will ship by Oct 25, at the latest. (We may ship before, but we certainly will ship by Oct 25).

Can you tell us a bit more about what you intent to say? Maybe you can propose some alternative formulations. That would certainly help a lot.
