Please help to check my sentences.

Dear all,
I was practicing my sense of grammar. And I have encountered some confusions during the exercise. I wish you could verify my sentences for me, million appreciations! (by the way, it is of course much better to have explanations followed up.)

Sentences:

He has already played so many rounds in the last time.Therefore, I should have more rounds this time.

He played so many rounds last time. Therefore, I think I deserve more rounds this time.

I tried that in the past. ( I suppose this is wrong,right?)
I have tried that in the past.
I have tried that before in the last year. (Or I should just say "I have tried that in the last year".)
I tried that last year.
I tried that before last year. (This sentence is talking about "I" have tried something in one or more than one year ago,just not the last year,right?)
